Project description

Solarigo is building a hybrid energy park in Hanko, Finland, for Norwegian renewable energy company Endra AS. The project combines a 35 MWp solar power plant with a 5 MW / 10 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). As the full EPC contractor, Solarigo is responsible for engineering, procurement and construction.

The hybrid energy park is being built on a former vehicle storage site. Covering approximately 35 hectares, the site is being given a new purpose in renewable electricity generation. The Hanko Peninsula offers some of Finland’s sunniest conditions, and the solar power plant is expected to generate approximately 35 GWh of electricity annually once operational.

The battery energy storage system will increase the facility’s operational flexibility, allowing solar electricity to be stored and used at a different time from when it is generated.
