Land Leasing for Solar Parks

The growth of renewable energy in Finland is essential. By providing suitable land for solar projects, you gain stable, long-term returns with a reliable partner – while contributing to achieving national climate targets.

Lease or sell land to utility-scale solar parks

Suitable land

Key characteristics of land suitable for a solar park include:

  • Relatively flat terrain
  • At least 6 hectares
  • Access to a 20 kV or 110 kV power line
  • Proximity to a substation

Agreement model

In most cases, a land lease agreement is signed for 40 years. Typically, the rent varies across the design, construction, and production phases. For the landowner, the most important factor is that the project is actually realized. Agreements are generally conditional on project execution.

Environmental Considerations

Building a solar park is relatively light on the environment. Earthmoving is often unnecessary, and the park causes very little impact on the surrounding nature. For every project, we carry out the required environmental assessments.

Reliable Finnish company

A trusted partner for landowners

We are the partner for landowners seeking a reliable, long-term way to make the most of their land.

We build real solar parks: we don’t leave projects hanging, and we don’t make promises we can’t deliver. With us, you only commit when there’s a reason to commit – and when you do, it’s to a project that will be built.

How we work with landowners

A partner who won’t leave your land unused

We don’t collect land just to keep it idle. We only sign lease agreements when a project is truly feasible – ensuring your land is put to real use.

No middlemen. Solarigo builds and operates directly

We don’t hand over your land to others. Our own team develops, builds, and operates the solar parks. That means we only promise what we can deliver ourselves.

Income from real projects

Solarigo is a Finnish, experienced solar park developer and operator – we have already delivered 10% of all solar power in Finland. When we lease your land, we build. You earn steady income for up to 40 years.

Leasing land for a solar park – how does the process work?

01

Defining the land area

The landowner offers land to Solarigo, and we make an offer.

Alternatively, Solarigo may approach a landowner in a suitable project area with a proposal.

02

Conditional agreement

Lease or purchase agreements are usually conditional on the project moving forward.

Often the rent varies between the planning, construction, and production phases.

03

Project progress

Developing a solar park can take from one year to several years before the park is built and producing power.

Land acquisition takes place in the early stages of the project.

04

Solar park in production

Solar parks generate renewable electricity for use in Finland.

Once production ends, Solarigo is committed to dismantling the park and restoring the land.

Combining agriculture and solar power

A solar park doesn’t mean the land is taken out of use. With agrivoltaics, the same area can produce both electricity and crops – efficiently and sustainably. Land use is optimized, and everyone benefits.

The shade from solar panels can even improve crops’ resilience to heat and reduce the need for irrigation. The land retains its value and becomes more versatile, serving both energy production and farming.

Agrivoltaics is a great example of promoting the green transition and sustainable development.
