Opening of the Honkisaarenneva Hybrid Park Celebrated in Kuortane

Solarigo celebrated the opening of its Honkisaarenneva hybrid park in Kuortane on Wednesday, 9 September 2026. During the opening event, guests had the opportunity to explore the solar power plant and battery energy storage system and learn more about the collaboration and expertise behind the implementation of the project.

Honkisaarenneva is Finland’s first hybrid park built on a former peat production area. The former peat production site has been given a new purpose in renewable energy production. The 34 MWp solar power plant is already in operation, with an estimated annual production of 29.5 GWh of renewable electricity. A 15 MW / 37 MWh battery energy storage system is currently being built alongside the solar power plant.

Opening day brought together project partners and industry representatives

The opening event brought together key project partners, stakeholders and other representatives from the energy sector. Guests had the opportunity to explore the site and hear more about the implementation of the project, the collaboration behind it and the role of the hybrid park in renewable energy production.

Despite the rainy weather, the event was celebrated in a warm and positive atmosphere.

Honkisaarenneva is a significant project for Solarigo, as it combines utility-scale solar power and energy storage at the same site. The project also demonstrates how former peat production areas can be repurposed for new energy infrastructure.
