Hartola’s Soimasuo project is ready for construction – Solarigo’s project portfolio continues to grow

Solarigo’s planned hybrid park at Soimasuo in Hartola is now ready for construction. The permits for the project, which combines solar power and battery storage, are now final, and detailed design work is underway. Once built, the Soimasuo hybrid park would further strengthen Solarigo’s substantial project portfolio.

The planned hybrid park of approximately 75 MW would be built on a former peat production site currently used for agriculture. If realised, the project would give the area a new purpose in renewable energy production, with solar power and battery storage forming a flexible energy system.

The Soimasuo hybrid park has been permitted using a model developed by Solarigo, which allows both battery storage and data centre containers to be located alongside the solar power plant. This enables electricity generation, storage and consumption at the site to be planned as an integrated whole.

From project development to long-term renewable power procurement

Soimasuo reaching the ready-to-build stage is a concrete example of Solarigo’s project development work and growing renewable energy generation portfolio. Solar and hybrid parks under development and already delivered across Finland provide a foundation for long-term renewable electricity generation and supply to businesses.

Solarigo offers energy-intensive businesses the opportunity to purchase solar electricity through a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA). Electricity can be generated either at a utility-scale solar park elsewhere in Finland or at an on-site solar power plant built at the customer’s premises.

This approach enables businesses to increase the share of renewable energy in their electricity procurement and improve electricity price predictability without investing in a power plant themselves. Solarigo’s expertise covers the entire lifecycle, from project development and EPC delivery to electricity sales and operations and maintenance (O&M).
