Solarigo to supply solar power to a biogas plant in Nivala under a long-term PPA

Solarigo Systems Oy has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply solar power to a biogas plant under construction in Nivala, Finland. The electricity will be generated at the Kurunpuhdon solar power plant, a project for which Solarigo has acquired the development rights from Skarta Energy. Construction of the approximately 6 MW solar power plant will begin in spring 2027, with electricity generation scheduled to start in autumn 2027.

The Kurunpuhdon solar power plant will be located on an approximately seven-hectare site adjacent to the Kurunpuhdon industrial area. The electricity generated will be supplied directly to the biogas plant through the plant’s own grid connection.

The project supports the development of the industrial area while providing the biogas plant with locally generated renewable electricity.

“The Kurunpuhdon project strengthens Solarigo’s position as a Finnish energy producer and a long-term electricity partner for businesses. For the biogas plant, the PPA provides access to locally generated solar power without the need to invest in its own solar power plant. Solarigo will be responsible for the construction and operation of the solar power plant throughout the agreement term, “ says Tomi Rumpunen, Project Development Manager at Solarigo.
