Solarigo builds 9 MWp solar park in Ohrasuo, Savonlinna

Solarigo Systems Oy will be responsible for constructing a new industrial-scale 9 MWp solar park in Ohrasuo, Savonlinna. The project marks a significant step forward for renewable energy production in Eastern Finland and supports Finland’s transition toward carbon-neutral energy generation.
Construction starts immediately
Järvi-Suomen Aurinko Oy, a subsidiary of Suur-Savon Sähkö and a sister company of Solarigo, has acquired the project company Skarta Energy Ohrasuo Oy.
Solarigo will oversee both the design and implementation of the project. Construction begins immediately, with completion scheduled for June 2026.
The Ohrasuo solar park will feature approximately 14,900 solar panels with a total capacity of 9 MWp. The investment is valued at around €5 million and is supported by the European Union’s RENEWFM program.
Local vitality and a future-oriented energy system
Located along Highway 14 in Ohrasuo, Savonlinna, the solar park will create new local jobs and contribute to the region’s economic vitality. Once completed, the park will deliver clean solar power to Eastern Finland’s electricity grid for decades to come.
During construction, special attention will be paid to soil conditions and nearby wetland areas. In addition, the potential for integrating an energy storage system will be explored to enhance the park’s flexibility and profitability in the future.
Project timeline
- Construction started: 23 October 2025
- November 2025: Groundworks completed, panel installation begins
- March 2026: Panel installation completed, electrical works begin
- May 2026: Electrical works completed
- June 2026: Commissioning
