Solarigo acquires full ownership of Callio-Hitura Solarpark Oy

Solarigo Oy has acquired a 70% stake in Callio-Hitura Solarpark Oy from the Skarta Energy Group on March 16, 2026. Solarigo previously held a 30% ownership in Callio-Hitura Solarpark Oy, and following the transaction, the project company is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Solarigo.
Callio-Hitura Solarpark Oy develops solar energy projects on former mining sites in Northern Ostrobothnia.
The Callio solar park, located in Pyhäjärvi, is Finland’s first utility-scale solar park built on a decommissioned mining area. The project also includes a 4 MW battery energy storage system, currently under construction at the Callio site. The project is part of the broader Callio industrial and circular economy area, which aims to leverage existing mining infrastructure as a platform for new low-carbon industry and energy production.
In addition, Callio-Hitura Solarpark Oy is developing a solar park and energy storage project at the former Hitura mine in Nivala. A final investment decision on these projects will be made at a later stage.
The Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has supported the Callio solar park and energy storage project through the NextGenerationEU recovery funding instrument.
Solarigo will continue to develop the projects in close cooperation with local stakeholders and authorities.
“We would like to thank Skarta Energy for their collaboration in the development and implementation of the solar park project. We also extend our thanks to all parties involved in the transaction for the smooth cooperation,” says Antti Koskelainen, CEO of Solarigo Systems Oy.
