Project description
Solarigo Systems Oy is assessing the feasibility of constructing a solar park in the municipality of Juva. The proposed project area is located near Orimäentie and Halkokangas. The total area under consideration is approximately 250 hectares, of which a land lease agreement has been signed with the Parish of Juva. The final project area is expected to be refined to approximately 100 hectares to construct a solar power plant featuring around 120,000 solar panels and a total capacity of approximately 75 MWp.
In early 2025, Solarigo will initiate the environmental studies required for permitting, with a particular focus on identifying protected and endangered species and their potential habitats. As part of this process, a screening for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) requirements will be submitted to the local ELY Centre (Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment). Once the studies are complete, Solarigo aims to apply for planning permission from the municipality and subsequently obtain a building permit.
As the permitting progresses, Solarigo will organize a public information event, to be announced separately, where residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the project and engage in dialogue.
The project area primarily consists of logged, clear-cut areas and sparse, underdeveloped forests at the time of felling. Construction of the solar park is estimated to begin no earlier than 2026 or 2027.
The estimated investment value of the project is several tens of millions of euros, with the final amount depending on the confirmed project scope. Once underway, the project is expected to generate local employment opportunities, particularly in earthworks and electrical contracting during the construction phase.
