WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SOLAR ELECTRICITY?

We deliver the entire system on a turnkey basis. Design, permit and application matters, construction and commissioning with inspections and maintenance are part of the delivery.

We initially need the property's address and hourly electricity consumption information from the customer for accurate solar electricity analysis and to make an offer. In the case of roof and wall installations, we need structural drawings of the property for the structural durability report. We will work with you on site planning so that the construction phase causes as little trouble as possible and you can focus on your core business.

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED FROM THE CUSTOMER?

Typically, locally produced solar electricity covers 10 - 20% of the property's annual electricity use. The rest of the electricity is normally bought from the electricity grid. You can also buy the rest of your electricity use as renewable energy from our sister company Lumme Energia.

HOW MUCH SOLAR ELECTRICITY IS IT WORTH PRODUCING?

You do not have to pay a transfer fee or electricity tax for the solar electricity produced on the property if the annual production is less than 800 MWh (FINLAND). The price of solar electricity is benchmarked against the price of sustainable electricity purchased from the grid, the transmission fee and the electricity tax. In addition, it must be taken into account that solar electricity is produced during the day, when the hourly price of electricity is high, i.e. the self-produced solar electricity replaces electricity that is more expensive than the average.

HOW IS THE PROFITABILITY OF SOLAR ELECTRICITY CALCULATED?

Yes, as long as the panels installed for solar power generation are properly installed and maintained. We pay attention to both fire and electrical safety. Our work is ISO 9001 quality certified and meets all requirements set by Finnish law. We familiarize the customer with the use of the solar power plant and take care of making a rescue card for the local rescue service and of the appropriate safety markings.

IS SOLAR ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION ON YOUR OWN ROOF SAFE?

Delivery time depends mostly on weather conditions (snow) and permit processing queues. The structural durability assessment also often takes time if you want to produce solar electricity on the property's roof.

Typically, it takes about 3 months from order confirmation to solar electricity production.

HOW FAST CAN WE GET THE PROJECT COMPLETED?

Solar power plants do not require constant maintenance, but the attention of a professional is still necessary. Solarigo's maintenance service monitors the production of solar electricity remotely and reacts quickly to malfunctions. In addition we perform annual maintenance checks on site.

In the PPA solution, we take care of all maintenance, servicing, monitoring and hardware updating. In the EPC solution, the customer can purchase Solarigo's EASY maintenance service to outsource all above mentioned to Solarigo.

HOW ARE SOLAR POWER PLANTS MAINTAINED?

Solarigo handles all the necessary permit matters with the authorities and third parties. The building authority typically requires an operational permit, sometimes a building permit. Large ground installation sites may require city plan changes. The comments and requirements of the local fire authority are taken into account in the designing phase. A permit is required from the electricity network operator to connect to the electricity network.

WHAT PERMITS ARE NEEDED?

Solar panels can be installed on a flat and pitched roof, on all roof surfaces, on a wall, on a flat field, on terrain to be leveled or on a slope.

WHERE CAN SOLAR PANELS BE INSTALLED?

Solar electricity production is 100% emission-free. Environmental impacts and emissions occur before the production of solar electricity (for example, extraction of materials, manufacturing of equipment, transport and installation).

The biggest environmental burden comes from solar panels, which produce the amount of energy required for their entire life cycle to be compensated in Northern Europe in about 2–3 years. Solar electricity as a whole is among the lowest-emission forms of electricity production.

IS SOLAR ELECTRICITY REALLY EMISSION-FREE?

In the calculation of the emission reduction of solar electricity, the average emission factor of the electricity production is used. The emission factor in Finland is 89 kg CO2 / MWh (2024).

A typical commercial property (for example, a normal supermarket) can reduce its CO2 emissions by about 5–10 tons per year with the help of a solar power plant. Larger sites, such as logistics centers and shopping centers, can usually reduce around 30–100 tons per year. Industrial sites can reduce their CO2 emissions even more. For example, our implementation of Atria's 10,9 MWp reduces the CO2 emissions of Atria's Nurmo factory by more than 800 tons annually.

HOW MUCH DOES SOLAR ELECTRICITY REDUCE CO2 EMISSIONS?

Yes, it shines. In Finland, the solar radiation values are good thanks to the long summer days. For example in southern Finland, the radiation values are at the same level as in northern Germany. In addition, the relatively cool air is an advantage, as the production of solar panels decreases as they heat up. In Finland, solar panels provide a significant amount of solar electricity from April to September.

DOES THE SUN SHINE ENOUGH IN FINLAND FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SOLAR ELECTRICITY?

Solar panels produce electricity from the sun's light, which is fed to the building's electricity center via inverters. Solar electricity is used alongside grid electricity.

HOW IS SOLAR ELECTRICITY PRODUCED?

Most of the solar panels used by Solarigo come from Asia, where the world's solar panel production is concentrated. When purchasing solar panels, we use the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition Solar Scorecard scoring system, which scores solar panel manufacturers from the point of view of environmental friendliness, responsibility, employee rights and safety.

All our solar panel suppliers are TIER 1 manufacturers of the aforementioned scoring system. The solar panel mounting systems come from Finland or other parts of Europe. Small hardware and cables are bought from local domestic operators.

WHO ARE SOLARIGO'S SUPPLIERS?

The price of solar electricity is based on the costs of building the solar power plant and the agreed contract model. The price of solar electricity can be tied to the price of the electricity market or it can be fixed for the entire contract period. In any case, a very competitive price can usually be calculated for solar electricity produced by a local solar power plant.

HOW IS THE PRICE OF SOLAR ELECTRICITY DETERMINED?

CONCRETE AND
EFFECTIVE
RESPONSIBILITY ACT

Solar electricity is a step towards carbon neutrality, which has become a growing competitive factor for companies.

It is a concrete and visible act of responsibility, the effect of which is easily measurable on your company's carbon footprint. The solar electricity you use is 100% emission-free. A visible act of responsibility is also a major attraction factor among customers, visitors and stakeholders.

THE COST OF SOLAR ELECTRICITY CAN BE COMPETITIVE

The price of solar electricity can be up to half cheaper than the purchase of stock exchange electricity.

The main principle can be considered that the more electricity your property consumes during the day and in the summer, the more profitable option solar electricity is.

The costs of purchasing electricity have been on the rise in Finland for years. In our PPA solution, the price of solar electricity is a flexible or fixed price agreed in advance.

CERTAINTY IN COSTS FOR DECADES

By utilizing locally produced solar electricity for the property, you can protect yourself from fluctuations in the electricity market. With the help of solar electricity, the costs of electricity production can be predicted for up to 10-20 years.

The energy market is currently uncertain and it is difficult to predict the costs of electricity procurement for companies.

In addition, solar electricity produced on your property is domestic renewable energy. Solarigo's solar electricity is recongized with a Finnish Key Flag Symbol.

EFFORTLESS WAY TO SUSTAINABILITY

Our services work on a turnkey basis, and you don't have to worry about the maintenance of the solar power plant.

At the beginning of a solar power plant project, only a few steps are required from the customer, with which Solarigo helps.

With the solar electricity contract model (PPA), you benefit from renewable energy completely without investments.

The advantage of solar electricity is also its minor disadvantages. The production of solar electricity does not cause noise or other harm to the nearby environment.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SOLAR ELECTRICITY?

SOLAR POWER FOR COMPANIES - WHY AND HOW TO SWITCH TO SOLAR ENERGY?

As an energy solution, a solar power plant is a sustainable, safe and long-term choice. Green energy will be an even stronger competitive advantage in the future as the responsibility requirements of companies tighten.

Solar electricity is a particularly good solution in energy-intensive industries and if your property consumes electricity during the day and during the summer. Solar electricity produced for own use significantly reduces the property's carbon footprint.

By producing their own solar electricity, companies can measurably make their services or products even more ecological. We offer different options for implementing a solar power plant.
